I can't wait for book 4! Well written, fast paced, and an ending to die for is everything I could have hoped for in this book. It's almost like reading the current political pages in newspapers or watching the evening news. Very Exciting!Product details

Blood and Bronze David J Guyton 9781456379247 Books Reviews
This series is good for beginners. It has subtle references to the current political climate. The author should focus on the battle and adventure side rather than trying to have a ideology discussion like Terry Goodkind often does.
I just enjoyed this series. The characters the story the whole thing, a very entertaining read and at the end of the day that is what I am after, entertainment.
Maybe people in America should read this it is what we are becoming. Great action and story lots of fun to read
This is a nice read, full of action. I am looking forward to reading the next book. Hope it is just as good.
There was so much promise in the story, but I feel the author got sidetracked trying to deliver a political message. I hope there is a next book and I hope the author spends some time knitting together a good story, not a PSA.
As a philosophy student, I can appreciate what the author is trying to do here. He is trying to make a novel that introduces various philosophical themes to its readers. And in a sense he succeeds. He gives many good arguments for some moral problems and some of those arguments are even outstanding, however, I am not so sure his novel is better because of it.
He spends so much time giving arguments and reasons, that this novel feels more like a lecture than a fiction novel. I'm not saying that the novel is bad, or anything of the sort, it's just that it gets a little boring at times.
As a good point, I must say that the ending was totally unexpected and very interesting.
All in all, readers should know that this is the second book in the series, and that if you like fiction and consider yourself smart, then this is the book for you(here the author would give a discourse stating why the opposite may hold true lol). Just remember to have some patience and all will be well.
I'm confused as to the high ratings for this series. While I appreciate the effort Mr. Brett has put into creating this world, it is not an enjoyable read at all. I found myself laughing at the contradictions and endless long-winded and never ending philosophical discussions. Every third page wanders off the beaten path, completely distracting from the story line.
I also have not been able to determine any sort of personalities in the characters. They all speak in the same voice, in the same way. There is no character appeal whatsoever.
The fight scenes are also laughable. Holding a conversation with an Elite Guard that was just trying to kill you, while others are still fighting around you isn't close to plausible. It may have been the fact that the scenes were not correctly set. Other than knowing there's a marble bridge, and some sort of tall building there, you can't picture the environment due to lack of details provided by the author.
I do give the author credit for a potentially good story line, I just wish it had been delivered in a better manner. Maybe my expectations are too high after reading every other fantasy novel I could get my hands onto.
I can't wait for book 4! Well written, fast paced, and an ending to die for is everything I could have hoped for in this book. It's almost like reading the current political pages in newspapers or watching the evening news. Very Exciting!
